⁹ Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:

¹⁴ And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

¹⁹ I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. ²⁰ I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the LORD.

⁹ Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

³ Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?

⁸ and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one.

But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part, ¹⁰ but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. ¹¹ When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. ¹² Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. ¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

³ The LORD said to him: "I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

⁵ If a man has recently married, he must not be sent to war or have any other duty laid on him. For one year he is to be free to stay at home and bring happiness to the wife he has married.

⁴ Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life.

⁷ Has anyone become pledged to a woman and not married her? Let him go home, or he may die in battle and someone else marry her."

¹⁴ For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

¹ The elder,

⁴ Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

¹² Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

From the house of the LORD we bless you. ²⁷ The LORD is God, and he has made his light shine upon us.
