25 Bible Verses About Doing For Others (NIV)

¹⁰ Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

²⁹ Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

¹⁶ And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

¹⁶ "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part, ¹⁰ but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. ¹¹ When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. ¹² Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. ¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

¹ We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

³⁵ By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

³¹ Do to others as you would have them do to you.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

³⁵ In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

¹⁸ Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

⁴ Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

¹² My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

¹⁰ God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

¹² So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

⁶ being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

³² Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

⁴⁰ "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

³⁵ For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, ³⁶ I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' ³⁷ "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? ³⁸ When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? ³⁹ When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' ⁴⁰ "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

¹⁴ What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? ¹⁵ Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. ¹⁶ If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? ¹⁷ In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

² Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

¹⁷ He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.

²⁷ Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.
