⁴⁴ "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

¹³ Just as it is written: "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated." ¹⁴ What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all!

You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. ¹⁹ This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live ²⁰ and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

¹⁷ Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

¹⁷ For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: "I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

⁸ But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

²⁸ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
