16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

29   The glory of young men is their strength,
    but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.

18   So even to old age and gray hairs,
    O God, do not forsake me,
  until I proclaim your might to another generation,
    your power to all those to come.

9   Do not cast me off in the time of old age;
    forsake me not when my strength is spent.

31   Gray hair is a crown of glory;
    it is gained in a righteous life.

12   Wisdom is with the aged,
    and understanding in length of days.

32 “You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the LORD.

3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,

4   even to your old age I am he,
    and to gray hairs I will carry you.
  I have made, and I will bear;
    I will carry and will save.

12   The righteous flourish like the palm tree
    and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13   They are planted in the house of the LORD;
    they flourish in the courts of our God.
14   They still bear fruit in old age;
    they are ever full of sap and green,
15   to declare that the LORD is upright;
    he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

    all the remnant of the house of Israel,
  who have been borne by me from before your birth,

    and to gray hairs I will carry you.
  I have made, and I will bear;
    I will carry and will save.

25   I have been young, and now am old,
    yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
    or his children begging for bread.

6   Grandchildren are the crown of the aged,
    and the glory of children is their fathers.

8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

14   They still bear fruit in old age;
    they are ever full of sap and green,

3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”

5   who satisfies you with good
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

12:1 Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”; 2 before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars are darkened and the clouds return after the rain, 3 in the day when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men are bent, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those who look through the windows are dimmed, 4 and the doors on the street are shut—when the sound of the grinding is low, and one rises up at the sound of a bird, and all the daughters of song are brought low—5 they are afraid also of what is high, and terrors are in the way; the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper drags itself along, and desire fails, because man is going to his eternal home, and the mourners go about the streets—6 before the silver cord is snapped, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern, 7 and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

22   Listen to your father who gave you life,
    and do not despise your mother when she is old.

7   I said, ‘Let days speak,
    and many years teach wisdom.’

7 Moses was 120 years old when he died. His eye was undimmed, and his vigor unabated.

26   My flesh and my heart may fail,
    but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

31   but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
  they shall run and not be weary;
    they shall walk and not faint.

10   The years of our life are seventy,
    or even by reason of strength eighty;
  yet their span is but toil and trouble;
    they are soon gone, and we fly away.
