Some argue that the Bible cannot be inerrant because it is wrong concerning the diameter of a bowl. However, there is a very easy explanation that solves the alleged problem.

The argument is that according to 2 Chronicles 4:2, the circumference divided by the diameter is 30 / 10, which equals 3, but mathematically, the result should be 3.14, which is the value of pi.

The Bible is Rounding. It is Not a Math Textbook.

The simple answer is that 2 Chronicles 4:2 is rounding numbers. The Bible is not meant to be a math textbook, so using approximate numbers is perfectly acceptable.

There are plenty of examples of the Bible using rounded numbers, and none of these examples should be considered a problem for the doctrine of biblical inerrancy, since rounding does not constitute a mistake.
