25 Bible Verses About Poor People (NIV)

¹⁷ He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.

¹¹ There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.

³¹ He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.

²⁷ Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

⁷ Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
