The Answer – How Could Light Be Created Before the Sun, Moon, and Stars?

Light Can Be Created Independent of a Light Source

There is simply no reason why God could not have created light before he created the sun, moon, and stars. The light that God created on day one was simply light that was independent of the normal generators of light.

In 2 Corinthians 4:6, Paul writes this:

For God, who said, “”’Let light shine out of darkness”’,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6

Creation was a supernatural event, and it is reasonable to believe that God creating light apart from what normally generates light in the universe was also a supernatural event.
